Why dance at DANCE AND?
DANCE AND provides children with a safe and nurturing environment to grow and develop as dancers and people. The studio is a place where each student is encouraged to find their own individual way of moving and appreciate the different ways that other students move. The dancers leave the class more confident in their own body and in their relationship to the world.
What is Creative Dance?
Creative Dance emphasizes the whole person. Basic dance technique is taught to develop strength, flexibility, control, balance and body awareness. This dance vocabulary provides a solid base for the dancers to safely explore their own creativity and imagination. In the class, the dancers improvise, use problem solving skills, and cooperate on tasks while experiencing the joy of dancing.
The class strives to continually integrate dance with natural science, mathematics and literature. The curriculum-based learning is structured to emphasize balanced intellectual and physical development. Each session culminates with a full program showcase where the dancers are able to share their work with each other, friends, and family.
